Pianolab.Amsterdam in Goethe Institut, Herengracht 470, Amsterdam
Cooperation Goethe Institut en Stichting Galerie der Töne

curator: Stevko Busch
watch the program starting from nov 2006

The series Pianolab. Amsterdam is organised since 2006 in order to give space to Amsterdam-based and international pianists to present their music.

You can expect performances of contemporary composed and improvised music as well as classical repertoire and jazz in various combinations - often two of them in the same concert. Regularly, premieres of new compositions are being played.

This format is unique and gives access to extraordinary combinations and unexpected musical contexts.

Besides pianists from Amsterdam like Misha Mengelberg, Mike Del Ferro, Walter Lampe, Dimitar Bodurov (a.o), musicians from abroad have presented their repertoire (Michael Arnowitt, USA; Julie Sassoon, UK; Gunda Gottschalk, D). There are young talents as well as very experienced musicians playing, and even one or two masters in their domain are willing to play at this extraordinary venue.

'Pianolab. Amsterdam' is a co-production of Goethe-Institut Amsterdam and the Gallery of Tones Foundation.

concerts from 15.3. until 21.6. were supported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst; Gemeente Amsterdam, Stadsdeel Centrum; SNS Reaal Fonds
